#loveisnotcancelled
Last year I wrote my best of post in-between editing and general photography work. This year I’m writing between family time… the best silver-lining possible! As many of my peers have, I’ve taken on other work whilst weddings are a bit scarce, including re-igniting my love for family shoots and pre-wedding shoots.
The Success Stories
One of the best parts of my year was shooting Laura and Dan’s wedding. Their 4th date was set for Friday November 6th, which for those that can remember was 1 day after lockdown v2, they somehow managed to move their wedding to 2 days earlier and got married on their 5th date!
My friends Dave and Sophie managed to have a fully fledged wedding the week before lockdown v1 and even got a honeymoon squeezed in.
Adapting and Evolving
Having already got a near-full diary for next year I am ready and waiting to smash every single one. I’m remaining optimistic for the summer months and with all being well I’m going to be shooting all over the country and having the best time ever.
Having only 8 weddings this year has served as a brilliant reminder of just how much I love my ‘job’. It’s the best and I cannot wait to be stood in the middle of the dance floor wondering if the guests have completely forgotten that I’m taking lifelong stills of their antics.
Thank you to all of the couples I shot for this year and all of the families too. It’s been a bast, nothing can take that away!
A quick FYI, some of these photos are from before lockdown
