Mr and Mrs Craigs Awesome Dodmoor House Wedding
I don’t know where to start with this Dodmoor House wedding, fellow wedding photographers will understand when I say it had everything. Not one 10 minutes past when there wasn’t a stand out moment. Mrs Craigs is truly loved by those close to her and to say they were showing their support would be an understatement. It seemed like everyone was emotionally invested in their wedding and as such, made my job incredible!
I dare say a ton of organising went into their wedding but it felt effortless and the day seemed to fly by. Starting bridal prep in Dodmoor House’ Bridal Suite was a good mix of madness and emotion, from practising dance moves to tears over heartfelt cards. Oh and a bride who wasn’t quite sure how to deal with the gift of a honeymoon from her soon to be husband, I’ve never seen anyone who looked more like they could explode from excitement before! But the show must go on and bridal prep went relatively calmly ahead of the last minute nerves. Traditionally you’d expect a first look with someone like the father of the bride, and yes we did get treated to that amazing moment but also we had a first look with her son too. ‘Aww that’s cute’ I hear you saying, and bloody hell it was, but this kid caused more happy tears in one day than a life time of rom-coms!
Dodmoor House Ceremony
If you’ve ever been to Dodmoor house then you’ll know how gorgeous the ceremony room is, made only more beautiful by Mr and Mrs Craigs HUGE smiles as they said their vows. They had two readings in their ceremony, followed by Mrs craigs son (and awesome pianist friend) playing a couple of tunes through the signing of the registry. Straight from the ceremony the couple got covered with confetti, much to the bemusement of their baby son, who at less than a year old hasn’t got time for the silliness of confetti!
Stunning Autumnal Wedding at Dodmoor House
Shooting the ‘couple shots’ was an absolute breeze. They were a dream to photograph. A quick 15 minutes spent together whilst I documented their post-ceremony mood.
‘not a dry eye in the house’ is probably a bit of an overused phrase but it certainly applied here. Mrs Craigs father started them all off with a gorgeous speech and a blooming awesome saxophone piece for his newly married daughter. The best (wo)man was up next and given the previous speech had a hard task ahead, but she nailed it. She spoke from the heart and couldn’t have chosen better words to thank Mr Craigs for everything he had done for her throughout her life. The speeches moved along to the turn of the groom, Mr Craigs made a lovely speech that bought a massive smile to everyones face especially Mrs Craigs. Then came the real tears, Mrs Craigs son took to the mic, ah man I can’t tell you how emotional that was and I don’t believe a few words on here will do his speech justice!
What an evening, from an incredibly fun first dance involving the bridesmaids till late into the night. There was a prosecco van, a street food style paella, photo mirror and a bloody awesome DJ who really knew how to get the guests on the dance floor, oh and a tonne of jager bombs!
What a beautiful autumnal Dodmoor House wedding. I can’t thank the couple and their guests enough, it was one to remember!
