“The only bad thing about our experience with Darren was him leaving – I was so sad to say goodbye that I could have cried! He really and truly made our day the most special that it could have been. He is excitable but not overbearing, modest, kind and has a calmness that helps you to keep grounded on the day.”
“We received numerous positive comments from our guests, with many assuming Darren had been a life-long friend of ours because of the way he integrated so well with everybody. On the day, Darren didn’t only focus on his work, but instead made a real effort to collaborate with our videographer as well, which demonstrated his professionalism further. One of our close friends has already booked him for their wedding, and I’m sure many others will follow suit. “

Darren was the first supplier that we booked after the venue and date was confirmed. We were both particularly anti-cheese; the prospect of posing for super awkward photographs was quite daunting for the both of us, so choosing the right person was of the utmost importance.
We booked four appointments to meet with photographers when we were up in Leicestershire one weekend and Darren went out of his way to meet us at a location convenient for us. Within a couple of seconds, we felt immediately at ease with Darren and ended up sitting by the fire chatting to him for almost two hours.
At the time – as this is going back a couple of years ago now – Darren had only fairly recently established himself as a full time photographer and as such, had a handful of weddings in his portfolio; however what he had done was exactly our style and he was so endearing as an individual that once we had said goodbye and before we had even left the car park, we decided to cancel the other three appointments and chose to work with him.
In the lead up to the wedding, he kept in frequent contact and a month beforehand, met me at the venue to run through the final photo list, have a look around the hotel to decide on shots and meet with the videographers to define how they would work together. He was so excited for us and for the big day and was so forthcoming with great ideas of specific photos, that it made me even more excited.
On the day of the wedding, Darren and Hamish turned up at 6:30am, bright and breezy and not only did they get all of the important pictures, but it was like they were members of the wedding party! Everyone loved them and they engaged with and got involved with everyone (Darren had to listen to some fairly dubious chat in the bridal cottage too, SORRY DARREN!). Numerous people have commented on how wonderful they both were and that Darren by far was our best supplier.
Darren was there to snap every single natural moment – I remember thinking a couple of times, “I hope we caught that!”, but he always did. He instinctively sees things unfolding and ensures that nothing is missed and captured for your memories.
Darren also came with us when my new husband and I went to visit my Nan at her home directly after the wedding, as she couldn’t attend the actual ceremony. Many bog standard suppliers would have charged extra for this – for their time and for the extra travel – but Darren absolutely insisted that it was not to be missed and would not hear of not being present. He interacted so well with her – she’s 94 and hard of hearing – and managed to get some really beautiful pictures that we will treasure forever.
Darren and Hamish were the very last suppliers to leave and were with us until around 11pm. They only left once they were confident that the night was winding down.
A week or so after the wedding, we received a small selection of edited photographs as a sneak peak of what was to come and they were absolutely stunning. The quality of the pictures and the natural shots that he caught were so much more than we could have hoped for. One in particular that he caught of our fireworks, looked like something out of a movie/magazine.
We recently received the final edited pictures and they were so much more than we could have hoped for – I cried from the first picture, right through to the last.
The only bad thing about our experience with Darren was him leaving – I was so sad to say goodbye that I could have cried! He really and truly made our day the most special that it could have been. I would absolutely recommend that you book Darren/Reality Photography. Even after 12 paragraphs, I don’t feel I have done him justice. I cannot express how wonderful he is and can only assure you that you will not regret it; I am so jealous of all the fun you have in store with him!
Darren is such a thoughtful and talented photographer. He met with us a number of times before our wedding to discuss what we wanted and to give us the best advice. On the day he was really attentive and nothing was too much trouble…even in the pouring rain! His attention to the smallest details is amazing and we couldnt have wished for a better guy to capture all the moments of our special day. Book him..you wont regret it x
Massive thank you to Darren for all of his hard work not just on the big day but before hand aswel.
We had an Engagement shoot and turned it into a family photo shoot with our children and Darren was amazing the children loved him and was a great way for the children to get used to the camara and the final product was truly beautiful photos. On the day he arrived early and took photos of myself and the bridal party getting ready and it was very relaxed, Darren made everyone feel very comfortable.
We had an all day package so Darren took pictures throughout our ceremony and into the reception.
He was happy to take requests as my Husband decided he wanted some other pictures taken that we hadnt previously discussed and Darren was more than happy to take those extra photos for us.
He did an amazing job from the point of booking right up to receiving our finished photos he was always happy to help with any questions we had and always gave 100% we will will truely treasure the photos forever and we carn’t thank you enough. We would highly recommend Reality Photography they are without a doubt a 5* top quality Photography service from start to finish. Thank you so much for everything ? Xx
We were very lucky to have the super-talented Darren capturing our wedding day, 25/11/2016 at Lains barn in Wantage. Darren really made an effort to put everyone at ease, providing a fun and relaxed feel to the day, whilst maintaining a professional and organised approach through the entire day. We received numerous positive comments from our guests, with many assuming Darren had been a life-long friend of ours because of the way he integrated so well with everybody. On the day, Darren didn’t only focus on his work, but instead made a real effort to collaborate with our videographer as well, which demonstrated his professionalism further. One of our close friends has already booked him for their wedding, and I’m sure many others will follow suit. To sum, Darren is a very capable, professional yet friendly guy who we cannot recommend highly enough. Thanks for everything and Liz and I wish you all the best for your future endeavours.
Darren was absolutely fantastic from start to finish. I couldn’t recommend him anymore if I tried! ?
Darren spent the whole day with us photographing our wedding, and provided an amazing service. He had some brilliant ideas for posed photos, and when he wasn’t organising these lovely pictures he was able to melt into the guests and take natural photos discreetly without anyone really noticing he was there, enabling him to capture some beautiful and honest reactions and moments that myself and my partner would never have been able to see and appreciate without his expert photography. For example, my father tearing up as we exchanged our vows and the guests emotions during speeches. I hate having my photo taken but Darren never made me feel self conscious or silly, he was so friendly and relaxed that myself and all of my guests felt at ease around him so all the photos are beautiful and real – no fake smiles or uncomfortable looking posed pictures! He went above and beyond our expectations and we are so happy that we chose Reality Photography. All the end products are amazing and he has given us so much for our money. The time and effort he puts into his work is very clear. I am in love with every single one of our wedding pictures. Would 100% recommend to anyone looking for a photographer!
Darren is an amazing photographer and all round top bloke! He spent over 14 hours with us on our wedding day and captured some fantastic informal shots and to be honest we didn’t see him even take these! He’s very discrete and is very artistic & talented. He is a very friendly & helpful and all of the guests commented on him and how fantastic he had been! We now have over 500 photos to go through and decide which to not print! A hard task indeed! Can not recommend him enough!
Darren was fantastic from start to finish, he captured moments we’d only ever have dreamt of. He was absolutely fantastic with both my groom and I and so amazing with our guests, they still talk about how brilliant he was even now!
