Dunchurch Park Hotel – Mr and Mrs Stevens
“Our evening reception was held in the same place as our wedding and meal. We chose to keep it there as we’d fallen in love with the room (The Great Hall) at first sight and didn’t want it any where else.”
“We also had use of a private bar area, which was quieter for those wanting to sit away from the music.”
They met whilst working together at Somerfield as they both carried out their university courses and have been together an amazing 12 years. Now they have two little ones together and last Christmas Mr Stevens popped the question using their assistance to start the story of their married life together.
“We have never done things the traditional way, so having our children there and be such a big part of the day was extremely special.”
“Having our families and closest friends all together was fantastic, and they all help make our day so perfect!”
On hair duties was the lovely Claire from Secrets Hair and Beauty, Daventry. Mrs Stevens sister just happened to an awesome make-up artist. Mrs Stevens had her nails done at Claws, Daventry and the incredible flowers were done by Orange Blossom, Daventry and not only were the flowers amazing but their customer service was spot on after a few last minute additions were needed. Mr Stevens had one of the best examples of a VW camper van to bring him to the venue, as a gift from Mrs Stevens and the awesome Sam at Silk and Satin Weddings. The DJ supplied by Dunchurch Park Hotel was Crazy Horses and these guys were great entertainers, great DJs are hard to find but I would thoroughly recommend these guys.
“The whole day was actually more then we could have hoped for, the weather was perfect and the food was amazing. We had a great Master of Ceremonies in Tony and our Registrar had a great sense of humour.
For me I was far more nervous then I thought I’d be and didn’t cry as much as I expected too!
Mr Stevens has said my dress was nothing like he expected.”
Here’s some advice from Mrs Stevens for all future bride and grooms;
“In the run up to the wedding accept all the help that is offered!”
“Our venue also asked that we took across all our decorations etc the week before, which meant the final week we only had a few small things to worry about. Even if you can’t do this with another venue, it’s well worth aiming to have the bigger things organised with time to spare. It means there is a chance to relax a little before the big day!”
It was a fantastic day to be part of and the whole party made me feel very welcome. It was a great place to shoot and they were so easy to work with, I know I wouldn’t have been too keen to walk around the vast grounds in them heels! I can’t thank them enough for letting me be part of it all and I wish them a very happy life together.
