Gorgeous Summer Wedding
It was my first time visiting Pendrell Hall and walking into the venue you get a sense of just how beautiful this place is. Everything is spotless, I think the cleaners have some ocd issues! Those stunning views really do wow the guests too.
Mrs Nixon and her squad got ready at Eleven Hair Salon and then headed back to Pendrell Hall to finish of the preparations and put that all important dress on. Bridal prep was full of laughter and excitement and Mrs Nixon was totally chilled all morning… Mr Nixon however! I’m joking of course (kind of), Mr Nixon was raring to go, it took him around 3 minutes to get ready and therein lies the problem… too much time to get nervous. He was surrounded by friends and family in one of the cottages at Pendrell Hall and from the empty bottles left from the night before I think they had a great time!
Outdoor or Indoor Ceremony?
Mr and Mrs Nixon wanted an outdoor ceremony but the weather forecast wasn’t having any of it, but the forecast couldn’t have been more wrong and the decision to have an outdoor ceremony was made just minutes before Mrs Nixon walked the aisle. It turned out to be a gorgeous afternoon and they looked like they had an awesome time saying ‘I do’ at their outdoor ceremony. The weather however wasn’t playing nicely and threatened rain throughout the drinks reception, but it never came! We had already scheduled group and couple photos to later in the day and I’m so glad we did as it was beautiful.
The speeches and reception arrived and the dance floor got more and more packed, with Mr and Mrs Nixon showing their guests how it’s done. It was a great atmosphere and everyone had an awesome time. Including me!!
Thank you both, I had a blast!!
Where Did you Meet?
I was a manager in a restaurant, colin wanted some part time work and his friend worked for me already, I interviewed him and we both knew there was chemistry straight away, I employed Colin and then things progressed, colin was a little ignorant and thought he should instantly get work perks but I gave him the ultimatum me or the job as it was my career and wasn’t going to risk anything, he chose wisely!
How Did They Propose?
At sunset on the beach in Dubai, with beautiful views, he needed a very strong drink after so we had cocktails on the roof terrace over looking the palm.
What was Different from your Expectations?
How relaxed and easy it all was, maybe because our venue team were great? Or maybe because I knew I couldn’t physically do any more organising, or that I knew that this was the moment it would all be forever from then onwards. However Colin was very nervous before ceremony but when the serious bit was over he said it was all so lovely and relaxing.
Any Advice to Future Bride and Grooms?
Cliche maybe, but to follow your own wants and dreams for the day and not let family interfere, to cherish every moment of the day because it is many days of planning and excitement but it is over instantly and it is almost heartbreaking that you cannot do it over again and again.
Any Money Saving Advice?
To not try and think about saving money lol, this day only happens once, if you can you should have everything you want. But a good tip is to have a realistic budget in the first place, if you are having a lot of guests you are going to spend more. If you are having a small wedding it’s going to cost less, if you can’t cut people off of your guest list be realistic to begin with.
