Some weddings just feel extra special, and Megan & Will’s day at Bassmead Manor Barns was one of those. A perfect summer wedding, bathed in golden August light, with the most heartwarming focus—family. Their two little girls were at the heart of the celebration, stealing the show with their infectious energy and beaming smiles.
This wedding was particularly meaningful for me too, as 2nd August 2024 marked the 10th anniversary of Reality Photo + Film. A decade of capturing love stories, and I couldn’t have asked for a more beautiful couple or setting to celebrate that milestone.
A Summer’s Day at Bassmead Manor Barns
Nestled in the Cambridgeshire countryside, Bassmead Manor Barns is always a dream venue to shoot at, but on this particular day, it was even more magical. The sun cast a golden glow over the rolling fields, and the barn’s rustic charm provided the perfect backdrop for Megan & Will’s intimate yet lively celebration.
Megan got ready in the Bridal Suite, surrounded by her closest friends, but all eyes were on their two little girls as they twirled around in their dresses, already stealing hearts before the ceremony had even begun. Meanwhile, Will and his groomsmen shared laughter and last-minute nerves in The Rickety Barn, the venue’s beautifully restored ceremony space.
An Emotional, Family-Filled Ceremony
There wasn’t a dry eye in the barn as Megan walked down the aisle, her Dad proudly leading the way. The moment Will saw his bride, you could see how much this day meant to him. Their vows were beautiful, with their daughters playing ring bearers, stood totally in awe of the moment.
Golden Hour & Party Vibes
As the sun began to set, we snuck away for some golden hour portraits—one of my absolute favourite moments of the day. The warm summer light bathed Megan & Will in a dreamy glow, and for a few quiet minutes, they had a moment just for themselves.
But if there’s one thing Megan & Will’s wedding proved, it’s that a summer barn wedding isn’t just about romance—it’s about celebration. Their evening reception was a full-on party, with their daughters back on the dance floor, leading the charge. The barn was alive with laughter, great music, and some impressive dance moves!
