Vibrant Summer Dodford Manor Wedding
Some weddings just buzz from the first moment and Emily & Ryan’s Dodford Manor wedding was exactly that. Recommended by Shannon & Steve (whose wedding you can see here), I knew this one would be special. Oh man it didn’t disappoint, absolutely full of laughter, colour, and a dance floor that went off.
Bridal Prep at Home
The morning began at Emily’s mum’s house, where bridal prep was anything but quiet. Surrounded by her closest friends and family, Emily’s morning was filled with laughter, prosecco and the kind of chaos that makes for the best moments. The bridesmaids, still keeping their wild west hen party theme alive, brought their accents, energy, and plenty of attitude.
The colour palette was bold and beautiful, bouquets bursting with pinks, oranges, purples, and yellows. Peonies, sunflowers, and wild blooms that perfectly matched the lively tone of the day.
The Ceremony
Dodford Manor always delivers for rustic charm and atmosphere, and this day was no exception. Ryan and his groomsmen looked incredible in their kilts, bringing a smart, traditional twist to a day otherwise fuelled by pure fun.
The bridesmaids arrived in a VW campervan and the bride in a Beetle added a classic touch to the countryside setting. With guests gathered and the sun sitting high, the courtyard buzzed with excitement. Emily and Ryan’s ceremony was heartfelt and full of emotion, a perfect mix of happy tears and unstoppable smiles.
A Four-Legged Guest of Honour
The drinks reception was bursting with energy. With laughter echoing across the courtyard as guests clinked glasses, caught up in the summer weather and enjoyed every minute of the party vibe Emily and Ryan had created. Their dog, Dash, complete with a floral collar to match the theme, happily mingled with guests, drawing smiles wherever they went.
As the afternoon rolled into evening, the speeches delivered a perfect blend of hilarity and heart, the kind that has you wiping away tears one minute and laughing the next. Emily and Ryan later took a quiet moment together, stepping away for a short wander among the fields, capturing relaxed, genuine photos before diving back into the dance floor chaos that defined their night.
Crocs, Chaos & One Wild Dancefloor
Emily swapped her heels for personalised Crocs, and from there, it was game over, the dancefloor filled instantly. Between cowboy hat dance moves, singalongs, and some questionable shapes, it was the kind of night that every photographer dreams of capturing.
Why I Loved This Wedding
This one was an absolute highlight of my year. Emily and Ryan’s wedding had everything, emotion, laughter, character, and chaos in the best possible way. It’s days like this that remind me why I love photographing weddings: real people, real connections, and genuine energy that never fades.
