Carbon Reduction Plan

Looking after the planet matters to me, both in my work and in my everyday life. Over the years I have made many changes personally to reduce my environmental impact, and it felt important that Reality Photography reflected those same values.

Weddings are incredible celebrations, but like any large event they can create waste and environmental impact. While I cannot change every aspect of a wedding day, I do believe that small, thoughtful decisions from each supplier can make a meaningful difference.

Sustainability does not have to mean compromise. It simply means being more mindful about how we work, the choices we make, and the impact those choices have. Whether that is reducing travel emissions where possible, working digitally instead of physically, or choosing more responsible suppliers and materials.

Below you will find a transparent breakdown of the steps I take to reduce the environmental footprint of my work as a wedding photographer and filmmaker.

Because I have always believed that if we each do our bit, collectively we can make a real difference.

The Plan

In its simplest form, I will plant 70 trees in 2026. Not personally of course, I can barely mow a lawn.

Using thorough recycling, moving away from petrol into a PHEV has made a huge difference, as has using the train more. Historically, when shooting in London I have mostly used my car, I am conscious that this isn’t helpful. I have purchased lighter equipment to make train journeys more viable, in fact I am writing this on a train journey back from a London shoot.

I am also in the laborious process of selecting a new album supplier. I will be looking closely at their green policy and choosing accordingly. This is another aim for 2026.
