Some wedding days feel magical from the moment they begin, and Jon & Alex’s wedding at Coombe Abbey was exactly that. On what turned out to be the hottest day of the year—soaring past 35°C—the heat did nothing to dampen the energy, laughter, and love that filled the air. From the emotional, heartfelt moments to the electric party that followed, their wedding was a perfect blend of tradition, romance, and an unforgettable celebration.
A Historic Backdrop for a Modern Love Story
Set against the stunning 12th-century grounds of Coombe Abbey, Jon & Alex’s wedding was the perfect mix of classic elegance and modern energy. The venue’s grand interiors and beautiful gardens provided the ideal setting for their love story to unfold, offering endless breathtaking backdrops for their day.
With the sun beating down, guests gathered in the shade of the estate’s ancient trees before making their way inside for a beautiful ceremony. As Jon & Alex exchanged vows, the emotion in the room was undeniable—smiles, happy tears, and an overwhelming sense of love surrounded them.
Jewish Traditions & Heartfelt Moments
One of the most special elements of Jon & Alex’s day was the way they incorporated Jewish wedding traditions into their celebration. Although the breaking of the glass didn’t exactly go to plan (I think it was the 6th attempt!), every moment was filled with deep meaning and history. It was a reminder of the generations before them and the legacy of love they were continuing.
And then, of course, there was the Hora—one of the most energetic and joy-filled parts of the day! Guests gathered in a huge circle, dancing with boundless energy as Jon & Alex were lifted high on chairs, their faces beaming with pure joy. It was one of those moments that perfectly encapsulated the spirit of their day—unfiltered happiness and a celebration of love with their closest family and friends.
The Hottest Day of the Year—Literally!
With temperatures soaring, everyone embraced the summer heat in style. Guests sipped on ice-cold drinks, sought shade under Coombe Abbey’s towering trees, and made the most of the stunning golden-hour light as the sun dipped behind the venue’s grand architecture. And despite the heat, nothing stopped the party from kicking off in full force!
A Party to Remember
If there’s one thing Jon & Alex know how to do, it’s throw an epic party. As the sun set, the evening transformed into a full-blown celebration. The dance floor was alive with energy, and the music kept guests moving late into the night. From traditional Israeli dancing to hands-in-the-air singalongs, the atmosphere was absolutely electric.
