This wedding got me right in the feels! Chris and Roshni’s summer wedding at Mythe Barn was definitely one of them. Not only did they create a day that perfectly blended their cultures, but for me, this wedding was deeply personal—Chris was my best friend throughout school, and we were inseparable. Being there to capture his wedding was an incredible honour, and it was also a chance to reconnect with old friends and relive some great memories.
A Stunning Summer Day at Mythe Barn
Nestled in the Leicestershire countryside, Mythe Barn was the perfect backdrop for Chris and Roshni’s big day. The sun shone down, bathing the barn’s rustic charm in golden light, and as the evening unfolded, we were treated to one of the most stunning sunsets across the fields. It was the perfect setting for a day filled with love, tradition, and unforgettable moments.
A Beautiful Fusion of Cultures
Chris and Roshni’s wedding was a celebration of two cultures coming together. The day began with a traditional Hindu ceremony, rich in colour and tradition. The intricate details of the mandap, the vibrant outfits, and the beautiful rituals made for an incredibly moving experience. Seeing them honour Roshni’s heritage in such a meaningful way was truly special.
Later in the day, they both changed into traditional Western wedding attire, bringing a whole new energy to the celebrations. Roshni looked stunning in her elegant white gown, and Chris was every bit the dapper groom. It was a perfect blend of old and new, tradition and modernity—just like their love story.
Oh no, not masks!
The wedding was also a reflection of the times. With Covid restrictions still in place, many guests wore masks during the ceremony. It was a reminder of the challenges the world had faced, but it didn’t take away from the magic of the day. If anything, it made every hug, every shared laugh, and every moment together even more meaningful.
Drinks Reception & Beautiful Speeches
As the drinks reception began, guests spilled out into the courtyard, soaking up the warm summer sun with glasses of bubbly in hand. Laughter and conversation filled the air as friends and family mingled, enjoying the relaxed atmosphere. The scent of delicious canapés drifted through the space, with guests indulging in beautifully presented bites while sharing stories of the couple. When it was time for speeches, emotions ran high. Chris, usually composed, couldn’t hold back his tears as he spoke about his love for Roshni, their journey together, and the incredible day they had created.
Golden Hour Magic
As the sun began to set, we stole a few moments away from the party to capture some portraits in Mythe Barn’s open fields. The timing couldn’t have been better—the sky put on a spectacular display, drenching the fields in golden light. It was one of those rare, perfect moments where everything aligned, and it felt like the universe had given them a gift to mark the start of their journey together.
A Celebration to Remember
With the formalities over, the night turned into a full-blown celebration. Friends and family hit the dance floor, the energy was infectious, and there was nothing but pure joy in the air. It was the perfect way to end a day filled with so much love.
