BABY DON’T YURT ME
Kirsty and I crossed paths a few years ago at a wedding where she was catering, and I was photographing. From the moment we met, it was clear why everyone adores her—she’s warm, caring, and undeniably one of the best chefs around. Her food left such an impression that I even booked her to cater my own wedding.
When Kirsty and Natalie asked me to shoot their wedding, I was genuinely thrilled. Natalie is the perfect partner for Kirsty, and the connection they share is visible to everyone around them. Their laughter, joy, and mutual admiration set the tone for an incredible celebration.
Morning Prep Overlooking Silverstone
The excitement started early in the morning, with Natalie getting ready at the Hilton Hotel overlooking the iconic Silverstone racecourse. It was a relaxed yet buzzing atmosphere filled with anticipation and laughter as Natalie and her bridal party prepared for the day ahead. Meanwhile, Kirsty was energetically running around, making the final touches at their venue, ensuring every detail was perfect.
An Intimate Outdoor Ceremony
Their ceremony took place outdoors in the beautiful courtyard of Joy Mead in Farthingstone, Northamptonshire. Surrounded by their closest family and friends, the setting provided a serene and intimate backdrop, enhancing the warmth and sincerity of the moment. The ceremony was officiated by one of their dearest friends, making it even more special with deeply personal and beautifully written vows. The emotional authenticity and tenderness of their words brought tears and laughter to everyone present.
Creative Portraits and Family Moments
Choosing a venue that isn’t specifically designed for weddings can often spark creativity, and this was certainly the case here. We used the charming main street of the village for unique and memorable couple portraits, and the grounds of Joy Mead provided an idyllic backdrop for relaxed and natural family photos. It perfectly complemented the informal, joyful feel of the day.
Speeches Filled with Laughter and Heart
After an incredible meal—naturally catered to perfection—the speeches began. Kirsty’s brother, father, and maid of honour, alongside Natalie’s dad, delivered some of the funniest yet heartfelt speeches I’ve ever witnessed. The combination of hilarious anecdotes, genuine emotion, and the typical warmth you’d expect from a family with farming roots filled the marquee with laughter and joy.
An Unforgettable Celebration
As evening fell, the yurt transformed into an energetic hub of celebration. The dancefloor was packed from the moment the music started, with guests eager to let loose and celebrate Kirsty and Natalie’s union. It was an atmosphere of pure joy and uninhibited fun, marking the perfect end to a perfect day.
Being a part of Kirsty and Natalie’s yurt wedding was a genuine privilege. Their day was a beautiful reflection of their personalities—warm, joyful, and wonderfully unique. Here’s to many years of happiness for this incredible couple.
