There’s plenty of reasons to choose Highgate House for your wedding venue, personally I love it because of how gorgeous the grounds are. At this point I should mention that I’m not affiliated with Highgate House and I’m only offering my humble opinion of the venue. If you have booked already or are in the process of, then from my previous experience you’re in good hands!

Originally built in 1663, less than 20 years after the battle of Naseby, the venue oozes character and history. At the time of being built the great grandmother of George Washington was a resident of the village. Now 350 years later Highgate House is one of the top wedding venues in Northamptonshire.

There’s tonnes of opportunity, the ceremony is beautiful and light, outdoors is always full of stunning colours, no matter the time of year and the Baronial Hall is one of my favourite rooms at any venue!

The main ceremony room (although you can get married in a variety of rooms) is lovely and light, the main reception room (again you can choose a different room for your reception, depending on numbers) is large and easily customised.

During your cocktail/Champagne reception the backdrop of the estate with your guests enjoying the (hopeful) sunshine is gorgeous and makes my job that little bit easier. Shooting at the gates is one of my favourite spots when it comes to the couple shots as you can get all of the colours from the garden in the background and the house just appearing behind you.
